People's Web set to challenge rivals
BELIEVE it or not, most consumers cannot tell the difference between operators and agents. To them, you are all part and parcel of one big travel industry.

The oversight has its advantages. This week we discuss Thepeoplesweb.com website, which lists holidays as the customer wants to see them - typically by destination rather than brand. But the site goes one step further. It offers the public the opportunity to match their holiday requirements to holiday deals at a minimal charge. The idea, if it takes off, would challenge existing web-based travel firms. But, for agents, it means that a good deal put up by a kitchen-table agent in Shropshire can compete directly with the equivalent offer by one of the four.
